Hello Phil
Hairy Dragonflies are scarce in Lincs and as such I believe are still regarded as 'notable'
There are recent records from south of the county in the Baston/Thurlby area and from the Messingham area which has always been something of a stronghold. Interestingly I recorded a male at Whisby (SW Lincoln) just last Saturday. There have been other records from the Lincoln area in recent years, but the species is not recorded on a regular basis here (yet!)
This may yet turn out to be a good year for HD's, they have been reported in apparantly good numbers at Messingham Sand Quarry in the last few days.
I don't know if your HD refers to a new site or not, but I would recommend that you send your record (and any other Odonata reports) to the County Recorder; Ian Capitt 7 Millthorpe, Nr Sleaford Lincs NG34 0LD e-mail
