On my way to Brickyard Lane this morningI was travelling south on the A1031 (Crabtree Lane and approaching the pumping station when I noticed an egret the field (TF467905) mingling with some sheep. I immediately had the impression that this was a cattle egret so pulled in the no through road to the pumping station. The bird was a couple of hundred yards away at least but on viewing with the scope was indeed a cattle egret. I viewed the bird for about 15 minutes it wandered the field with the sheep and disappearing from time to time in the hollows of the terrain. I wasn't totally sure of my location with no village in the immediate vicinity. My phone gave me the co-ordinates to put the news out. The bird which never came too close must have flown off after my departure as Roy Harvey who was at Rimac couldn't find it once he picked up the postings

Anyone looking for the Cattle Egret in the Rimac area would be advised to check through the large numbers of Little Egrets that favour the saltmarsh just north of the Sea View car park. This is where it was late afternoon yesterday.

The Cattle Egret was again on the saltmarsh opposite Sea View car park yesterday morning.
Later, it returned to feeding in fields beside the road at Saltfleetby.

The Glaucous Gull was still at Donna Nook, opposite Stonebridge car park.

Relocated the cattle egret this afternoon (Friday 10th) at 14:05 further south than where I originally found it. Again it was in with sheep at the side of the A1031 (TF473896) just a couple of hundred yards north of the Churchill Lane turn off and on the opposite side of the A1031. Again it never came close.

The Egret remained in the same field until 13th March at least. On checking the field on 15th March it was devoid of any sheep and it appeared the Egret had moved on as well
