Heading North from the car park, a total of 16 Kestrels in the air, carrying on North to the sluice a further 8 were observed, numbers double checked on the return walk and tallied again as 2 different flocks.
Plus 1 Wheatear

I counted 11 in the air at once early morning which was a record for me

also 2 Wheatears
1 Whinchat
1 lesser Whitethroat

I can also confirm a good count of 24 Kestrels today with 16 over the outmarsh at Stonebridge, 3 towards the RAF look-out tower and 5 closer to Pye's Hall. There were 4 Wheatears and 2 Whinchats along the chestnut paling fence by the beach just before Pye's Hall at ca. 1030. 6 Greenshanks were in Somercotes Haven and there was a Cuckoo at Stonebridge.

2 Whimbrel
4 Common Sandpiper
1 ringtail Hen Harrier
1 Peregrine
1 Merlin
2 Barn Owl
1 Redstart
2 Wheatear close to the base
4 Willow Warbler
3 Whitethroat
1 Sedge Warbler
