Is there any record of Peregrines ever having nested on the Boston Stump ?

Not as far as I know, Freddy.... my birding knowledge goes back only as far as 2006.... I'm taking my binoculars with me on every trip into town, and if I hear word of breeding, that'll be upgraded to a scope! I am really excited at the prospect!

Also, Redshank flying up the Witham seaward from Sluice Bridge as I was walking over the footbridge near to the Boston Standard office.

Hi Freddy,

Peregrines have never nested on the Stump. However, now that Bob Sheppard has successfully arranged to install a nest tray, which we erected recently we are now optimistic.!!

Peregrines have regularly roosted historically on the Stump in Winter (probably Scandinavian breeding birds), but have been more regular in the last few years.

One of the pair executing breath-taking aerobatics this afternoon over the Market Place, scattering pigeons left, right and centre! After delighting me, it flew to rest on the Stump tower.

The Frampton Marsh RSPB birds and the birds at the Stump are likely to be the one and the same?

Katherine, when they leave the stump, what direction do they fly in?

Not entirely certain - they fly around, rest on the Stump and then fly off to goodness knows where. Next time I see them I'll let you know.
