Yes, super bird and an excellent find Andrew, many thanks for letting me know.

Bird still present at 6.10 p.m. at least, although it did fly off over the road just as Russell
was leaving, but then returned after about half an hour.

I arrived at the Tip fencing at 3.30 this afternoon - Sat, (all of 20 minutes' drive from BBH) and Pete Heywood kindly put me straight onto the Sabine's Gull through his 'scope.....it was on the back pool swimming quite close to the bank. It soon moved to the right-hand pool, close to the near bank thus giving the closest possible views.

Viewing was interrupted by a heavy shower and when viewing resumed the Gull was again on the back pool. It obliged by giving some more flight views.

The Gull was still there when I left at 4.20pm.

Still there this a.m and showing well on the furthest right hand pit,it also went for a flyabout, going past me about 20 feet away across the fields to the south east, before returning to it's favoured pit.At last i have added this to my Linc's list as it was my bogey bird, with me missing several in the past,1 by minutes!.

Other sightings included 2 Hobby and at least 5 Common Buzzard.

Regards

Steve

Apart from a single pied wagtail. The Sab's Gull was the only birds present on the pits today. Close but mostly out of view tucked under the near bank during much of my brief visit. It did eventually fly around briefly before returning to hide under the near bank again.

No sign of the Sabine's Gull on the lagoons during two short visits this morning and afternoon.

Sounds as if you were unlucky there Del, during our visit it only spent a short while under the near bank.
For some of the time it was sat out on the spit but it was mostly feeding around the edges where it could be seen.

Hi Roy.
Not as unlucky as David. He dipped it twice on the same day as me. At least i saw the bird.

Any thoughts on why it's hanging around so long. A friend who saw the bird the day before said he thought the bird was ill and would not last too long. It's not very active or wasn't when i was their at least and now it's gone or deceased maybe.
