Popped today to see this at Saxby and it showed well while I was there. It did also manage to disappear when it laid down.

Worth mentioning that when I went to see this this pm, I parked opposite the cottage at saxby bridge only to be shooed off by the owner. He said the entire road was private and I could only view the bird from where the tarmac finishes at the small bridge over a dyke. How true this is I have no idea, as there are no signs to say the gravel road is private and its marked as a b road all the way to the river on my OS map. I think the guy has just got fed up with birders, so probably worth avoiding the area of the cottage and viewing from the hard standing area a few hundred yards short of the cottage.

I have looked into this as Paul says the road is marked as a yellow road on the most recent OS Landranger maps and the signs from the road suggest that it is a public road to the Ancholme but I got this back from the council rights of way team

The Council's highway department have confirmed North Carr Lane is only adopted down to the first bridge (Weir Bridge). The remainder of the track therefore is private. I will be contacting the OS to ask them to amend their maps

This was most certainly not the case in the past as can be seen the road is tarmac in places and was clearly a public road in the past but it appears to have ben abandoned? by the council --- if this can happen on this track then where next? Worlaby or any dead end road that the council has no cash to maintain?
There are also other issues in the area which cannot be expanded at present but anyone visiting is asked to park well out of the way and try not to upset the locals!
