And that's the Waxwing account open for 2011!!! 3 still in hedgerow, fairly close to the road!

Also - the presence of 2 Pinkfeet, 1 Little Egret, many Pintail, 20 Golden Plover, Gadwall and Dunlin bought the Year List to 57. No sign of reported White-fronts or Whoopers from scrapes or hedgerow.

Short-eared Owl seen (not by me - missed it by seconds #-o ) at approx. 15:30. Thought I'd honestly be the Kiss of Death for the waxwings but not today, it seems!

Yesterday the white fronts were by the reservoir (not viewable from the visitor centre). You could see them from the embankment path that runs on the far side of the wet grassland. The whoopers and bewicks were also viewable from this path as they were in the farmers field on the Norfolk side of the embankment. That is also where I saw the short eared owl
