Thanks, Martin Gray for the info and thanks Colin and Sheila for relaying it.

They say, "Strike while the iron is hot", especially as Branston is only 5 minutes' drive from BBH.

As I turned into Moor Lane from the Metheringham Road this morning (Monday - 1025), the Waxwings were clearly visible, perched in a small clump of bare trees on the left above the "School - Caution" road sign as the houses ended and before Heathfield Avenue.

I parked and was able to view the proceedings from my car. The birds had 3 feeding areas:
- Across the road in a hedge (mainly Rose Hips)
-Below the trees in the hedge (mainly Rose Hips)
-In the rear garden of the last house on the left in 2 or 3 berry bushes.
-Some of the birds were also drinking from the puddles on Heathfield Avenue.

Maximum count was 27. The birds were still feeding as I left at 1045. (back home by 1050 to do this post) :)

Regards,

Freddy.

PS. 40+ Waxwings reported on Birdguides this morning - Mon (11.15) behind the Medical Centre and by the North Kesteven School in North Hykeham.

Only 2 Waxwings still around when David Cohen and I were at yesterday's site 12.40 - 1.00pm today (Tue). They were perched in an Ash tree opposite the entrance to Heathfield Avenue.

Regards,

Freddy
