40 Waxwings on the Peterborough road in Bourne opposite Larkfleet House, feeding on hawthorn berries. Look quite settled so should be there for a while.

We counted 24 a little later but David and Sue Thorpe counted 58. Thanks for the call Hugh.

There are 4 x 10km squares which meet in Bourne so there is an opportunity to fill in several holes in the Waxwing map for the BTO Atlas. TF11 and TF12 have not yet recorded Waxwings. These two squares are north of the traffic lights in the town centre.
so if anyone sees Waxwings north of the town centre please say so. I heard that up to 80 were seen in Bourne yesterday on the Peterborough road.

Waxwings still on North Rd until 7th at least - 16 on 6th and 4 on 7th seen by my daughter - but rowan berries now depleted there .

On 8th had a single waxwing on the neighbour's TV aerial in (Mill Drove) providing a new Atlas record for TF12A. Suspect may be birds in housing N and S of Mill Drove but have not had chance to check

Sorry for late posting

I had an hour before a couple of meetings in Bourne today and sadly did not see a single Waxwing. :(

The Larkfleet House & Tesco Express locations both had small groups of Redwings feeding where the Waxwings had been seen in the past, around 10 per group at each location.
