Common buzzard passage at this time has become a feature over the last few years and over the last two days, there have been small groups through; 5 south on 1st and 6 south on 2nd. Virtually all arriving from the north or north west and moving off south. Todays movement was exceptional and commenced late morning, and involved groups of 6 and 8 while I was watching around mid day. By late afternoon 48 had been recorded.

Also wryneck trapped in the east dunes but few other new migrants apparently.

The question here, was any of the 48 recorded twice as I saw 11 in the air together when I left Jacksons Marsh hide and then another flock of 12 together along with the ringer. It did seem as though they were drifting south (sometimes rapidly) but I was dubious of claiming 23. Whatever, it was an impressive sight

I missed the wryneck by about 10 minutes I understand. That would have been a lifer for me
Lots of long tailed tits about in the West Dunes and the Plantation

With regards to the Common Buzzard's,a record count of 70 were seen flying south at Spurn today along with 3 Honey Buzzard,i only managed one at Flamboro',but i was distracted by a certain mega eastern warbler!.

Interesting. I've had 11 over the past three days at Frampton/Kirton including three together. Many arriving from the North. No honeys though.

I was doing the counting at Gib today and had 37 after Tim had seen a flock of 11 earlier. All of the ones I counted moved on south so were not counted twice. But as we had a gap in the counting to see the Wryneck there were undoubtedly more than 48.

Another very quiet day at Gib. Common Buzzard passage continued with 12 more moving south.
