Thanks to Sheila J. who put the news out of Colin's find! Popped over to have a peek at the RNG and blogged a record shot. Sheila found a Common Sandpiper too - both on Riverslea part of the reserve (N of bridleway).

On reserve itself a Temminck's Stint was nice and a drake Garganey on on the island viewable S of the bridleway. Also here:
2 Little Ringed Plover
2 Avocet
2 Oystercatcher
15 Common Tern
1 Dunlin
3 Swift over.

Nice hour here this afternoon! Thanks all!

Hi John,
Pleased to meet up with you, Colin, Sheila and Roy at Kirkby GP after my earlier visit to Frampton RSPB Reserve, and to share the special pleasure of seeing the drake Garganey, Temminck's Stint and summer-plumaged Red-necked Grebe as well as all the other good birds around. :)
Earlier, I also had a Common Buzzard from the Hide.

Regards,

Freddy

Also present:
Turtle Dove
Cuckoo
Common Sandpiper

We too had the pleasure of seeing the RN Grebe - great views - thanks to Colin & Sheila for the use of their 'scopes :D
A nice treat especially after also seeing the Pratincole at Frampton before that!

Red-necked Grebe, Temminck's Stint and Garganey all missing this morning up to 9:30am

3 Turtle Doves present
2 Common Sandpipers
and an unusual sounding Chiffchaff (chiff chaff chiff chaff chirrup chirrup chirrup chiff chaff)
Thought to be just a Chiffchaff though

Hi Russell
Chiffchaff back in the big tree, it did utter some odd notes but just a straight Common Chiffchaff
