While doing a late Winter TTV at Holbeach Clough yesterday I found that the Corn Bunting flock had increased to at least 80 and probably over 100. The weedy field had been ploughed but this had not stopped them feeding in several small flocks, but difficult to count accurately. Also during the TTV: 35 Linnets, 8 Yellowhammers and 5 Reed Buntings. A Sparrowhawk took a quick diversion to scratch the back of a passing Collared Dove before continuing over the fields. By 10 o'clock the fog had descended and I had to abandon the next 4 TTVs that I had been planning to do.
