The boat trip was arranged at short notice Steve and we were all rushing to book spaces thinking that they would soon be snapped up. Such a shame that you couldn't be there - I had a spare seat in the car, had I known....

Grateful thanks to Steve Keightley for arranging things. The trip out on the Boston Belle was most enjoyable in near perfect conditions and we had excellent views of the King Eider on the outward journey.
It was not a 100% birding trip and more than half the people on board day trippers so we had to go along the Welland almost to Fosdyke when the birders would have been happier to stay with the King Eider. However, we were all delighted to see such a 'mega' at close range.
Linda & I were pleased to meet up with Paul Smith and Ian Misslebrook as well as Andy Chick, Phil Hyde, Neil Smith, Graham Catley, Paul French, Steve Keightley plus a couple of guys from North Hykeham - I didn't catch their names, but they too enjoyed themselves!

If only I'd known about this sooner... oh well, any hope of another trip being chartered before those feathers grow back?
