A foggy, muggy and wet morning (got soaked to the skin twice ) 5.30am-1pm, covered west of reserve and quick visit to Chowder Ness. Had half hour of hazy sunshine
On visiting the loo when I arrived I was briefly transported back to "Backwoods" in Goa, i.e. Frogs in the Bogs (2 of).

Anyway on with the birds.............

Hi Mandy,

You were lucky. In addition to the frogs under the rim at Backwoods there was also a snake in my "shower". After it was removed they told me it was venomous!

Never-the-less an experience not to be missed.

quite a place that backwoods, i was the 25th person ever to visit the place many years ago now. My name being on page 2 volume 1. Does the 06.30hrs pitta still run on time through the camp, wot a sight !! bleary eyed oy dont stand on the pitta.

Hi Guys

Yes, an experience without a doubt. No snakes in the room (well we didnt see any in the camp but they were about Im sure.) Not only frogs in the loo but a dozen or so in our bed - not condusive to a good nights sleep!! The little blighters persisted in jumping on us in the dark and hiding under our pillows - I was a nervous wreck

As for the pitta, yes right on cue every morning in the camp kitchen area - lovely bird
