Terek Sandpiper found around 1pm, still present at 2pm on Tennyson's Sands, best from Fenella Hope hide immediately opposite Beach Car Park. Bird loosely associating with small party of redshank. Found by Andy Lakin and Geoff Williams.

Good southerly movement of swifts this morning per John Shaughnessy.

Cheers

Kev

Further to the web reports, I arrived at the Tennyson's Sands hide stakeout at 5.00pm. (Thanks to Steve Routledge for directions to the best viewpoint hide). I just managed to get a seat giving excellent binocular and 'scope views of the Terek Sandpiper out in front. It performed well for c20 minutes before working its way towards Jacksons Hide. (My first in the UK. - my last, and only other record, was at the West Coast Road Jurong Prawn Ponds, Singapore on 15 August 1964 - some 45 years ago ......'tempus fugit'. Where did it all go? )

Regards,

Freddy

No smiling faces today with the bird not seen up until 13:00. It was still on Tennysons up until 10:30 last night apparently

There was a Golden Oriel in the East Dunes this morning - heard by Tim the shorebird warden

Compensation for missing the above was

grasshopper warbler - by the steps (Sora bridge) to the Fenland Lagoon
hobby
marsh harrier 2
barn owl
