Belated report for yesterday (7th March).

1 (non singing) Chiffchaff on the south side of Grebe Lake. A late wintering bird or an early spring migrant?

Also of interest yesterday

1m Shelduck (Grebe Lake)
2 Egyptian Geese (Thorpe Lake)
1f Peregrine over
3 Buzzard over

Cheers

Grahame

How do you determine the gender of Shelduck?

I'm not being crude but males have a bill knob which females lack. Check out any decent field guide and you'll see what I mean.

Ad Med Gull with missing inner most primary in right wing on Willow Lake today (Sat). Its the same bird that has been around the Boultham Mere area recently.

Regards

Grahame
