On the way to Thurlby roost, with Dean Nicholson, I found 13 Waxwings in a roadside tree at Witham St. Hughes opposite Swinderby industrial park.
They were perched in a bare tree and kept dropping down to feed on rose hips in the scrub below the tree.

Thanks, Andy, for the Waxwing gen. The 13 birds were still there today (Tuesday) up to 11.00am at least. They were feeding on rosehips and also guelder rose berries. They were spooked at 11.00 by the arrival of a couple of Fieldfares.
(Coming from Lincoln, just past the Witham St. Hughs roundabout ( by the new houses) on the left opposite a yellow sign "Swinderby Industrial Park" by a blanked off entrance ..... where I parked to view).

Regards,

Freddy

No sign of waxwings 10 till 11am today. Several other birders there, some of whom had been before and none had seen them since Sunday. Cheers. Rick
