Another very readable current tracking report is at http://www.rspb.org.uk/ospreytracking - an RSPB report on the southerly progress of two of Loch Garten's Osprey chicks (named Nethy and Deshar) on their autumn migration. Both chicks have been fitted with a state-of-the-art satellite transmitter, allowing their every move to be tracked.

Regards,

Freddy

It really is fascinating and gripping stuff tracking these birds of prey south on their autumn migration with regular satellite fixes.
Specimen reports:
(Roy Dennis)
3rd October - Honey Buzzard 21250 : "Was in the western flanks of the Anti-Atlas Mountains, heading for Imzilene, 60 kms SE of Agadir, MOROCCO". (plus map)
(RSPB)
3rd October - Osprey 'Nethy':2200hrs - "Flying at 65kph at an altitude of 357m almost due S on a course of 187 degrees. She has just passed the SE coast of the Mediterranean island of Formentera and is 220kms from the Algerian coast". (plus map)
All in all, a marvel of modern technology.

Regards,

Freddy
