I'll have to be careful what I write in future

At least you gave me something to smile about.

Apologies for the strength of my comment John but i just see your original comment as part of the arrogance shown by some on here towards the inexperienced.

Don't be so sensitive James. John made a totally valid point. The birds are there to be found, like it or not!!

I reckon 85 species would have been possible if the weather was not so windy and cold, missed stuff like Redshank, Little Grebe etc, as I said.

Josh,

If it isn't too much trouble  can you list all 85 species that would have been possible... At least doing this it shows those with less experience what birds to look for.

My best total in a day is 50, without breaking my neck in the process.

Regards

Max

I think I'm going to do a mini-bird race some time next week - a morning at Westgate Wood, a lunchtime back at home looking out onto the garden, on to Witham Way Country Park, finishing at Boston Cemetery.

Don't know if Dad can get me to Freiston though. He says he is not happy about the car park security at Frampton to be happy going there with me.

It doesn't need to be a race. Take your time. There are no prizes for getting the largest total.

As long as you enjoy getting out and about.
