Woke up to the distant calls of Tawny Owl and then picked up DP and we made our way Chapel Point were we stayed for nearly four hours sea watching. The best records being:-
Guillemot 44 - in a single pan on a flat sea. Razorbill 6 - at least Red-throated Diver 7 - five on the sea in another pan Great Northern Divers 2 flying south Arctic Skua 7 Gannet 55 Common Scotter 53 N Sandwich Tern c25 Manx Shearwater 2 Wigeon 9 Arctic Tern 2 Wheatear 1F on the wall Great Skua 1N Pomerine Skua 1N Cormorant 3
Then on to Gib Point 14:00 until 17:15
Night Heron 1S good views - thanks to Nige for help in finding it. Greenshank 2 Little Stint 1 Curlew Sandpiper 11 Pintail 1F Marsh Harrier 1Juv Avocet still 4 Yellow Wagtail 1 Common Sandpiper H
Fish and chips at Coningsby and a Barn Owl to close with down Ruskington Fen.
