Spent an enjoyable two and a half hours here while car being repaired. Although it was windy it was possible to get out of it, by getting down to the waters edge. I managed to find plenty of large rocks to sit on below the bank. If I'd had a digi SLR etc it would have been possible to get quite a few close ups, the birds must be used to all the people passing and feeding them.
Never been here before but heard quite a bit about it. Met one guy who said a pair of Black-necked Grebe has been here of late.
It is certainly a large area of water with 100s of assorted gulls.
The following is what I saw both at close range and in the distance:
Black Swan - 2 Grey Wag - 2 Goldfinch - 1 Reed Bunts - 3 Meadow Pipit - 1 Great-crested Grebe - 14 Tufties, Coot, Mallard, Mute Swan, Cormorant, Pied Wag, Canada and assorted gulls etc
Peacock - 2 Small Tortoisshell - 1
