I'm not sure if Water Violet is rare in Lincs but I found a ditch today which was full of them.
It's in the Isle of Axholme in the Langholme area at approx. SK757980.
There doesn't seem to be a botanical contact in the LNU to check with?

According to the late Joan Gibbons in her authoritative 'Flora of Lincolnshire' (1975), the Water Violet had been recorded in all the botanical divisions of the county, but was becoming scarce due to mechanical dredging. I assume the decline continued along with the dredging, so would believe that this is a good find, Phil.

Phil

Have sent you an email with the Lincs vascular plants recorders details.

Let me know if for some reason you don't receive it.

Cheers

Grahame
