The display of Northern Marsh Orchids at present in the Army Swathe Sanctuary dune slack at Gib has to be seen to be believed - truly spectacular.
Take the direct track between Mill Hill and the Sleeper Track and when you reach the only bench seat walk up the slope towards the sea for 20 metres and view from this vantage point. On no account enter the sanctuary.
Don't miss it if you're at Gib in the next 10 days.

John Walker has pointed out that I have called the Gib Marsh Orchids - Northern Marsh Orchids when they are Southern Marsh Orchids. He is of course correct and I know that - I blame an age event!! Apologies. I'm susprised that nobody else pulled me up on that earlier. They are still an mazing sight.
