Post subject:  White Admiral - 26 June

A visit this morning (Monday) in bright sunshine to Southrey Wood. Walking along the Main Ride off the B1190 from Bardney, I recorded :

White Admiral - 8; Large Skipper -1; Brown Argus -1;
plus several Red Admiral, Comma, Small Tortoiseshell, along with numerous Whites, Ringlet and Meadow Brown.
Pleased to meet up with Peter Cawdell, Chairman of the Lincs Branch of Butterfly Conservation, carrying out a transect.

I also called in at Chambers Farm Wood to check out the Butterfly Garden - most attractive with a host of plants in bloom. By the pond, I came across a Grass Snake on a sunny bank plus 2 Small Skippers.
