My first night using my homemade moth trap. 18W actinic. Only 12 moths trapped from 22:00 - 04:20.

2 Riband Wave
1 Common Waistcoat
1 Silver Y
3 Buff Ermine
1 Orange Underwing
1 Snout
1 Poplar Hawk 3rd since 23rd June, this one was only seen flying around an outside light.
2 unidentified moths, Hopefully photos will follow later this eveing.

Just starting out with the whole identifying thing, so please bare with me. I also aim to photograph as many species as I can so expect a few more moth pictures on the LBC and my Blog (feel free to correct me on any.) Any advice on how to attract larger catches would be appreciative. I aim to Put out the trap at least 2 times a week.

Hi Anthony, your Orange underwing is more likely to be a Large Underwing.
