Visited a regular site at Walesby Moor last night and this morning. 70 birds caught including 22 Willow Warblers, all first years which were obviously moving through. Several very juvenile Blackcaps and Garden Warblers which I reckon were second broods.

A second visit last night/this morning produced 18 Willow Warblers, 11 Chiffchaffs, 11 Blackcaps, 3 Garden Warblers. All the first year Willow Warblers were still in body moult as were many of the other species. This conflicts with birds on the Gib Course, most of which had completed. This confirms that there have been a lot odf late broods and I anticipate they will be around later than normal. A juvenile Kingfisher topped an excellent session.
