Whilst the majority of the readership was getting excited by an escaped bird in Scunthorpe, 6 members of the Mid-Lincs RG went to Osgodby at the invitation of the landowner to catch some of the birds using his acre of wild bird seed mix. In 5 hours we ringed 321 birds including 57 Dunnock, 24 Blue Tit, 56 Tree Sparrow, 16 Chaffinch, 91 Greenfinch, 6 Linnet, 2 Lesser Redpoll, 10 Bullfinch and 35 Reed Bunting! I hope these totals will be included in next year's LBC report.

A pretty impressive total Stuart. I suspect the 57 Dunnocks may be a Lincolnshire site record?............unless anyone knows differently? I have been ringing more Dunnocks this autumn than previously - some with quite large wing-lengths, so suspect a proportion of these may be migrants.
