Post subject:  Greater Black-backed Gull

A British ringed 2CY GBB Gull was found freshly dead at Middlemarsh Farm on 070117. There was no sign of visible injury.

Ringing Scheme: London Ring Number: MA39513 Species of bird: Great Black-backed Gull (Larus marinus)

This bird was ringed by S Y T Bodnar as age nestling, sex unknown on 04-Jul-2016 12:00:00 at Eilaan Nan Ron, Highland, UK
OS Map reference NC6465 accuracy 0, co-ordinates 58deg 32min N -4deg -20min W accuracy 0. It was found 187 days after it was ringed, 667 km from the ringing site, direction SSE.

Botulism is also a cause of death with gulls - they pick it up from feeding on landfill sites.
