Found a colour-ringed Rock Pipit along the wall at Pyewipe Mudflats on Friday 15th January. Yellow ring, right tarsus, code either 'STJ' or 'SJT' with metal ring on left tarsus.

A search on cr-birding.org suggests it was ringed in Makkevika Bird Reserve, Giske Island, Møre & Romsdal, Norway. More information available here: http://www.cr-birding.org/node/74 - I am currently awaiting a response.

Presumably this bird would be of the littoralis subspecies given its provenance and the time of year?

Regards,

Josh
