Post subject:  Lesser and Common Redpolls + Willow Tit

Redpoll sp. have been at a premium in the Market Rasen area this year and this morning I caught the first two of the year at Occupation Lane. However, one was ssp. cabaret and the other ssp. flammea. in the hand they are quite easy to distinguish by biometrics as flammea has a considerably longer wing. I also re-trapped a single Willow Tit originally ringed as a juvenile last year so the small local population is hanging on for another year.
