The Mid-Lincs Ringing Group ringed a total of 8,507 birds during the year at a variety of sites in the Lincoln, Louth, Donna Nook, Market Rasen and Caistor areas. In addition, projects undertaken included "SAFFIE" ( an RSPB project at selected sites which involved nest finding and recording of species such as Skylark, Meadow Pipit etc on agricultural land), Barn Owl Monitoring Project, RAS (retrapping adults for survival of Whitethroats at Donna Nook) and colour ringing nestling Tree Sparrows in the Limewoods. Anyone wanting further details of our work, please contact me.

We are just finalizing the 2005 Annual Report. In order to continue gaining data on population dynamics and survival it is important to continue ringing large numbers of birds of all species. To give some idea of the scale of the commitment of the eight ringers of the Mid Lincs Ringing Group, the following are the highest ever annual totals achieved in 2005. Kestrel (22), Wood Pigeon (13), Barn Owl (60), Great Spotted Woodpecker (21), Skylark (28), Wren (232), Fieldfare (12), Grasshopper Warbler (5), Lesser Whitethroat (28), Blackcap (157), Yellow browed Warbler (6), Chiffchaff (115), Goldcrest (773), Great Tit (852), Treecreeper (24), Chaffinch (430) and Greenfinch (1099).
