This morning I ringed 2 chicks in a nest box near Wragby - they were still downy with wing feathers medium so will probably not leave the box much before November!

Are you familiar with the history of the pair using this nest-box, Stuart? Do you know if this is a replacement brood, or as I would suspect this late in the season, a second brood, reflecting a good year for voles?

Steve,
The box is at James Siddle's in-laws! As far as I can gather, the box has been up for 7 years and this is the first time Barn Owls have nested in it. I know there was a failed first brood about a mile away so I wonder if they've re-located for a second attempt?
