In 2007, Bob Sheppard and I found three cases of bigamy in Barn Owls. In one case a male was paired with females in two boxes a mile apart, and in the other two cases there were two females in the same box.

We have now done it again, but this time by discovering two female Little Owls sitting side by side on a clutch of eggs !

What is it with Lincolnshire?.........something in the water perhaps?

Yes they are in the fens......but I wasn't going to mention that......

We also found two female Barn Owls in a box at the week-end which were sitting separate clutches. These are the same two females which were found sitting side by side on a single clutch of eggs in 2007. Three adults were also seen at this box ion 2008.
