Highlights from a visit yesterday p.m. Kirkby Moor: 3 Wheatear, 1 Turtle Dove, 1 Cuckoo, 1 Jay, 2 Green Woodpecker. Kirkby Pits (from the hide): 6 Swift, 12 Pochard including two pairs "courting", pair Shoveler, pair Gadwall plus 6 males, 3 pairs Shelduck, Reed Warbler singing, Little Egret, 14 Common Terns, 1 Turtle Dove.
