What a wonderful visit today, thick fog to begin with but brighter later. 6.30am til lunchtime Highlights: 1 Tawny Owl ( shared a magical ten mins with it out in the open less than 3 metres away - just me, it and the fog! A brilliant start to the day!! ![]() 1 Whinchat ( a cracking male gave brief view then flew off - no chance of a photo - first I have seen here) 3 Common Tern (first of year for me) 1 Grasshhopper Warbler (reeling happily, my first this year) Also: 1 Kestrel 10 Linnet 4 Yellowhammer 3 Ringed Plover Lots displaying Shelduck 4 Chiffchaff 4 Willow Tit 4 Blackcap 5 Sedge Warbler 2 Mute Swan 2 GC Grebe 1 Little Grebe 1 Whitethroat 2 Lesser Whitethroat Lots Swallow and Sand Martin 2 Oystercatcher 4 Pied Wags 5 Meadow Pipit 2 Skylark 1 Lapwing 2 Mistle Thrush 3 Willow Warbler 8 Reed Warbler 6 Reed Bunting Mandy |
