Two around St James' 17.00. One landed on spire.

I've seen a single bird almost daily for the last couple of weeks. Any sign of breeding activity?

We have rarely seen one since 17 March, so think they are nesting elsewhere, as until then, the pair regularly roosted on the church. Barry C. also, has not seen one on his regular visits.
Tower now open to visitors, which will put paid to any further nesting here for this year.

This doesn't sound too promising for Louth, as both birds around now would suggest that they have possibly failed nearby. I had every confidence that the birds would use the church if we could have kept tower visitors away for a decent length of time.

This is disappointing news, as another pair in the south of the county appear to have failed at early egg stage too - possibly due to concentrated corvid pressure?
