Post subject:  Blackbird Fledgling

Our first Blackie fledging appeared in our garden a few mins ago, looking very healthy and being watched over carefully by his doting father! :) No sign of any more youngsters at present, just hope the damn neigbourhood cats stay away :evil: They killed 4 last year

Yes Mandy, cats are a major blight on all small wildlife and their carnage accounts,as you know, for millions of UK birdlife annually. I thought the beasts were absent from our area but a moth-eaten Tom came into view shortly after reading your post. If only I believed in gun law!
