Great white egret seen on three occasions on saltmarsh out from Wash Viewpoint by small crowd after flying in from north. Waited for high tide in the hope that rising water levels may be suffuciently high for it to pop its head out of the creek system - alas no. Then it flew onto Wainfleet Marsh when I went to check creeks to north !

prob Rough-legged buzzard also seen moving south by several birders.
Marsh harrier 2 south
Hen harrier ringtail
merlin
peregrine 3 (including an imm south)
black redstart 2
house martin 3
swallow 2
sand martin
willow warbler 3

Cheers

Kev

The Great White Egret was still in the creek area east of the Wash view Point at 16:45. Difficult to see as it stays out of sight in the creeks most of the time.

missed it again after Ed's sighting - and don't think there were further reports til dusk - expect its still about though.

Also, one of peregrines reported earlier was a falcon sp (heavily streaked below) with jesses.

Cheers

No sign of Great White Egret or Black Redstarts by Mid day Sunday.

Birds that were seen include:

1 Hen Harrier (m)
1 Short-eared Owl
1 Wheatear (m)
3+ Little Egret
6+ Corn Bunting

Plus usual suspects.
