Post subject: | Mute Swan survey 14/3/09 |
As part of the Mute Swan survey today between Washingborough and Bardney Pits I counted: 91 Mute Swans This does not include any on Nocton Fen as they are being counted seperatley. I did a quick count of the Nocton Fen swans just for my own benefit and there were 60 birds present. That is 151 Swans, not a bad total for the area. 10 Swans are known to have hit the wires and died this winter. Also noted during the survey were the following: 1 Little Egret 6 Whooper Swans 1 Green Sandpiper 2 Grey Partridges 30 Fieldfare |
