Grainthorpe Haven: 13.00 x 13.45 Hen Harrier - 1 Brent Geese - 120 [over east] Mistle Thrush - 1 Redshank - 5 Curlew - 35 Gadwall - 2 Dunlin - 8 Horseshoe Point: 14.30 x 16.00 very wet and draughty Little Egret - 4 Hen Harrier - 1m Fieldfare - 25 Curlew - 15 Rock Pipit - 1 [next to car] Redshank - 60 Knot - c200 Short-eared Owl - 2 Kestrel - 1 Junc of A1031 and B1201 Barn Owl - 2 North Thoresby Ponds Barn Owl - 2 [these were seen minutes after the above two and were not the above ones] Common Buzzard - 1 Beesby Top Tree Sparrow - 40 Swinhope Brats [east of Binbrook] Merlin - 1 adult female South Moor: Grid Ref TF1097 Fieldfare - 120 Pied Wag - 40 Corn Bunting - 5 Cadney Sparrowhawk - 1 female Little Grebe - 2 Grey Heron - 2 Saw what I believe to be 30 - 40 Whoopers in a field on the east side of Louth Canal and between Thoresby Bridge and New Delights in a field, couldn't stop because no where to park and too much traffic on the narrow winding road. Maybe if someone lives in that area they could check it out. An excellent day out even though we had rain, sleet, hail, sun and wind plus a double rainbow!
