Further to recent favourable reports, I checked out the bird table/bird feeder area at Chambers Farm Wood today (2.45 - 3.45pm). There was a veritable Birdfest : Brambling - 2 Siskin - 2 Great-spotted Woodpecker - 1 Tree Sparrow - c20 Goldfinch - 9 Chaffinch - c25 Greenfinch - 3 Coal Tit - 3 Great Tit - 15 Blue Tit - 14 Long-tailed Tit - 1 Robin - 2 Blackbird - 3 Woodpigeon - 1 Dunnock - 1 15 species - a credit to Ron Fox's hard work and dedication. Well done, Ron! Returning home via Nocton Fen: incl. : Buzzard - 2 flying along the dyke in front of the Pits and occasionally alighting on the tops of tall bushes. Mobbed by BH Gulls from the Pits. Mistle Thrush - 2 RL Partridge - 9 (still alive). Regards, Freddy |
