The peregrines usually go to roost at St James' late afternoon/early evening and leave early morning, announcing their arrivals and departures with much loud calling. There is a nest platform on the north side of the tower (can't be seen from the ground), but they usually roost on the east side, sometimes the south. The tower is closed until Easter, so it will take some strong proof of the pair breeding soon, to keep visitors away from the tower after that time. Geoff |
