I checked the grounds of Cargill, Frontier, Limagrain offices along Camp Road, Witham St Hughs this afternoon (Sat) but there was no sign of the Waxwings (only a depleted ornamental berry tree and a mixed group of c15 Fieldfares/Redwings in the area). However, opposite the blanked-off entrance/exit yellow sign - 'Swinderby Industrial Park' - there was one lone Waxwing perched in a sapling and occasionally dropping down to feed on Rosehips (2.00pm). There was also one Lesser Redpoll there and a large group of Rooks inspecting their old nests in the large Rookery nearby. No sign of the Waxwings in the Thyme Walk/Sorrell Road area and I had no idea where I might find Dean Eades' apple tree in his (superb) photos in the Photo Album of 13th February.
Regards,
Freddy
