With a sharp frost this morning and a moderately high tide i walked the intertidal zone from Churchill lane to mablethorpe north end c 4km,then back along dune edge.
sightings include, common gull c1200 herring gull c270, gbbg 87
med gull 1 ad winter plumage (unringed), sanderling c230, knot c450,
dunlin c240, curlew 88, bar tail godwit 43, cormorant 62, lapwing c600,
redshank 57, yet nothing seen on the sea!, stonechat 3 but few other birds in the dune scrub with little fruit left. cheers John.

I did the same north from the Great Eau to Howden's and then across the saltmarsh.

Counts included c800 Common Gulls, c240 Dunlin, c120 Sanderling, c235 Knot, c65 Teal, 3 Wigeon, 56 Snow Buntings, c120 Cormorants, c200 Brent, 130 Pink-Feet north-west then south.

On the sea Red-throated Diver 52N, Common Scoter 60S.

Also 3 Woodcock flushed from the southern end of the main ridge.
