3 hour walk today coming in from Hawthorn road and out the same way 1330-1630 House sparrow 27+16+21 in different areas, no tsparr though usually have them in winter in one area Fieldfare 800+ & Redwing 250+ falling over them throughout the area Barn owl in old quarry 2 Lesser redpoll old quarry area 5 Siskin over Bullfinch 30+ in the hollow, go over the first bridge and follow the left hand track until you face the flats facing west and wait Sparrowhawk large f hunting the ffare&rwing coming out of the sun in hollow Moorhen in the middle of a rape field plus the usual suspects Cheers Brian + 1 ps. Heard that a house in ruskin avenue has been getting lesser redpoll feeding on the remains of nijer seed after the goldfinches have done there bit, 3 every day for the last week and a 4th today. |
