Still 15 Waxwings just past the Witham St. Hughs village roundabout today (coming from Lincoln). Showing continuously from 1.00 - 1.45pm, viewed from the comfort of the car at the blocked-off entrance to the Swinderby Industrial Park. Mostly they were perched in saplings, dropping down only occasionally to feed on berries and rosehips below.

Regards,

Freddy

Chris,
You know how unpredictable Waxwings can be. It's a shame, though, that you didn't hang about a bit longer as the birds were giving continuous views for some time. There were 7 of us from 1.00 to 1.30pm (when Terry and Eileen Corlett left) but Dean Eades et al were still there when I left at 1.45. Terry and Eileen apparently returned at 3.00pm and the Waxwings were still showing well (per the 'Other Forum').

Regards,

Freddy
PS. Terry and Eileen also watched the birds from the comfort of their car in the blocked-off entrance next to me whereas the photographers were across the road by the saplings.
