Just to confirm there was a Bittern at Whisby on Sat and Sun, on the north side of Grebe Lake (view north from the south side just before the first hide) and although there was no sign of it this afternoon, may still be worth a looking for.

The drake Ferruginous Duck was back on the settlement lagoons at Eagle Lane again briefly this morning, before flying onto an adjacent lagoon to the east (and not visible from Eagle Lane). To reach this ‘hidden’ lagoon park at the Railway Inn (it would be courteous to ask permission first) on Station Rd in Whisby and take the public footpath west for 100 yards to view the pit on your left from the shelterbelt. Use the trees as cover or everything will flush! The best views yet I have had of this bird.

Regards

Grahame
