On arriving at 10:00 wondered if there was a twitch on seeing nine cars in car park, maybe they were after the Goshawk
Had a look across Grebe Lake hoping to see if any LEO were roosting but nothing was seen as the sun was too bright.
During the time there we saw a total of 40 species of which 20 were non WeBS species. The highlights were as follows:
Common Buzzard - 6
Redshank - 8
Common Snipe - 17
Shoveler - 7
Siskin - 28
Redpoll - 1
Tawny Owl - 1 [my first proper sighting believe it or not, courtesy of John Harriman]
Water Rail - 1 [heard]
Goldcrest [heard]
Redwing - 71
Left at 15:00 with still quite a few cars in car park. Pleased to leave I was bitterly cold and crippled with pain [usual problem].
Kind regards
Max
