Post subject:  Deeping Lakes 31/10/08 Buzzard??

Please bear in mind I'm a beginner and this was my first outing without a birding mentor, but between 11.30 and 1.30 I saw wigeon, goldeneye, cormorant, heron, a solitary little egret, solitary greylag, great crested grebe, tufted duck, coot, black headed gulls all on the main lake, but also what I THINK - size and underwing pattern - was a buzzard which flew over the lake being pestered by a crow. I also got surrounded on the path by a flock of long tailed tits (with a couple of blue tits in tow). I'd love to know if buzzard is the most likely identification of the raptor - anyone else seen one around there today??
