Morning visit to Manby Flashes, 5 Ruff was a good count for here also 1 Wood Sand and 1 Greenshank Decided to walk around to the bird hide which I hadn't visited for about 3 years. It's still in good condition and even got a birdlog,I see Brent Goose and Bittern have been recorded last winter. I saw a Marsh Harrier hunting from here today although the views are not very good. I wrote a note in the log asking if we could have the hide moved to the sewage works side of the flashes, would probably have to speak to English Nature or the farmers . Geoff |

Geoff, English Nature ceased to exist almost 2 years ago when it became part of Natural England, The washlands on each side of the Long eau at Manby are different owners and the owner of the sewage farm side didn,t wan,t a hide as he thinks vandalism and other issues would be a problem. cheers John. |
